Experiencers Unite - fun is important!

What are you doing for fun?

One of my favorite fun and social activities is being a guest on podcasts. It is super ideal for my Autistic wiring, being expected and encouraged to deep dive on topics I am passionate about and welcome to do some monologuing, sign me up any day! And podcasters are always just such quirky and interesting people, it is my favorite social activity, one on one, they've signed up to hear all my stuff so I can't be too much (although yesterday I was on one where I think they definitely experienced me as too much, win some you lose some) but I get to do it all from the comfort of my own home and it's time capped, and yeah, I just love it!

And this past month has been a slew of them! If anyone is interested in being on podcasts, I've been using PodMatch, you can check out this video about it and use this affiliate link if you're interested in joining!

Anyhow, most recently, and not actually through podmatch, I had the absolute delight to chat with someone from our very own community, Nell from Too Human with Nurse Nell, we covered everything from the nervous system to ETs and are planning a second episode soon, it was such a blast and I'm so grateful for humans like Nell! This newsletter even got a shout out, so that was very fun! You can find her on IG and FB!

I also had the chance to talk with the incredible Dr. Takon in the UK who specializes in supporting Autistic kids and their families in a neuro-affirming way and she wrote the most beautiful article after our conversation, the podcast episode is yet to be released, but keep your eye out, especially if you're interested in supporting your kids or inner kid in a way that affirms their autonomy and takes care of your nervous system at the same time! She invited me to share at an upcoming conference and I'm really honored to be a part of it, connecting with people all over the world doing these beautiful and meaningful lives has really helped me during these recent demoralizing times on this planet!

I'm having so much fun meeting incredible people, I was on one yesterday (not yet released) about one song that makes a huge impact on you with a guy who happens to live in the same town in the UK where my great grandparents were from and another one, Leta's Tap Styles (also not yet released) about tap dance and Autism (two of my favorite things in this world!), and another one, That's Me! with the woman, Kory Andreas, who evaluated me for Autism (also not yet released).

I can't recommend being on podcasts enough! You don't have to be an expert, the majority of them just want to connect with real people telling stories about their experiences being on this planet. And if you just like listening and are interested in something un-spiritual and just for fun, here are some podcasts I'm enjoying listening to: Handsome, History Chicks and Woo Woo with Rachel Dratch.

Coding for fun!

Another thing I've been doing for fun is learning to code on the app Mimo and taking a Google Career Certificate course (there are several tech options) through Coursera. It's $49/month and most certificates take about 6 months and preps you to take the test that gets you able to apply for jobs in the field and they are all beginnner friendly and super cool options for folks who may want to switch jobs or do something more neurodivergent friendly but don't want to go back to school or invest a lot of time and money.

I'm not looking to switch jobs, but I've always wanted to learn to code and do more complex stuff and I'm finding it to be so satisfying and such a blast! And it somehow feeds my long held desire to get back to that experience I had taking the test to become a cryptolingual analyst for the CIA (a longer story for another day, but I think it's in this interview if you're curious), like maybe if the apocalypse happens, I'll be ready to do some anarchist hacking! ;)

Learning something that is in that "just right" zone of challenging, but not too hard is a key component to taking care of the nervous system and is the A and B of the ABC skill in DBT that is a huge part of building a life worth living! Our culture downplays the value of doing something meaningful, but connecting with our special interests is one of the best way to avoid and recover from burnout!

Crisis support is not just for crisis!

Did you know you can call or text 988 just because you are confused, lonely, uncomfortable? Not just crisis! Find resources here and watch me call 988 below to see what it is like and have some questions answered about what you can expect! It can be more effective than talking to chat gpt because the person on the other end of the line has a nervous system, which chat gpt does not, consider giving it a try!

imagine if you took this good of care of you?!

Interested in learning more about coaching with me, the SSP, RRP, the Work or just talking about ET's, esoteric ideas or anything else? book a free inquiry call here, I have loads of openings right now!

I'm continuing to offer the big nervous system work online course (not the SSP or coaching sessions) that has an overview of most of what I've learned in this life for "pay what you want" ongoing. You can use coupon code: ECLIPSE100 which will make it free and then you can venmo me anything you want to donate @gazitchayankosi. Feel free to share <3

Feel life is too overwhelming to even take care of daily needs? Struggling with suicidal thinking or self harm urges? I cannot recommend any modality more than DBT. I have found a legitimate DBT resource that offers online live classes with replay available for the very low price of $19/month!! You can even try it out for a week for free! I have no affiliation with them, I've been taking my classes through DBT Path for the past decade and while I adore them and think they are the best DBT class money can buy, I know there are people who are not able to or ready to invest that much so I was thrilled when I came across Jones Mindful Living. Most cities have DBT classes that are covered by insurance. If you want help finding a DBT resource, please email me and I'd love to support you in finding something that is a good fit for you.

love you! xo, z

Grief art is cancelled today <3 something came up with my kiddo <3 Who is in charge anymore? Well, I don't know how you all are, but it's been a weird time for me. Another wave of realizing that despite all the layers of following the external authority that I've shed, there are still parts of me that are sad about realizing no one is "good" in a total way, no one is here to save us, no one ever has been. I've really been appreciating Prentis Hemphil lately and this recent episode meant a lot...
